Of course everybody will work hard in this workshop. However there might be an
hour of two for other activities. See below our recommendations:
Walking
This is really nice area to walk around. We recommend Kallahti and Ramsinniemi Nature protection areas for flora, fauna and scenery. There is also a popular sandy beach, typical water temperature in June +17C. Weather in Helsinki
Shopping
The biggest mall in Helsinki is Itakeskus, comfortably accessible by Metro (3 min, 2 stations, west of Rastila). There you can find 2 huge supermarkets, wine store "Alko"), 3 bookshops, pharmacy ("Apteekki"), Swedish clothes shops ("H&M", "Kappahl")... They even have a websiteSightseeing
Downtown Helsinki is 17 min away from Rastila by metro. "Downtown" is defined as Central Railway station - metro stop Rautatientori (the only one they announce even in English).
